What Travel Advisors Should Be Posting in August
(Without Starting From Scratch)
August is a busy month for travel advisors.
Your clients are finally taking the vacations they've spent months planning. You're answering messages from airports, checking in on hotel stays, celebrating honeymoon arrivals, and solving the occasional travel hiccup along the way.
Meanwhile… your own Instagram has been quiet for two weeks. When business gets busy, marketing is usually the first thing to fall off the list.
But here's the thing: while your current clients are traveling, your future clients are scrolling.
They're saving dream destinations, researching holiday travel, and thinking about where they want to go next. If you disappear from their feed now, you're missing an opportunity to stay top of mind.
The good news? You don't need to create more content this month.
You just need to create the right content.
1. TELL THE STORY BEHIND THE TRIP
Beautiful destination photos will always catch someone's attention.
Stories are what build trust.
Instead of posting a picture of a resort with a simple caption, share the journey behind it. Why did your clients choose this destination? What surprised them? What thoughtful detail made their vacation even better?
Those behind-the-scenes moments help potential clients picture what it's like to work with you—not just where you can send them.
2. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS YOU’RE ALREADY GETTING
Your inbox is one of the best content planners you'll ever have.
If multiple clients are asking when to book holiday travel, whether Europe is still busy in September, or where to go for Spring Break, turn those questions into posts.
Helpful, educational content positions you as the expert long before someone is ready to inquire.
And chances are, if one client is asking, dozens of others are wondering the same thing.
3.START THE CONVERSATION ABOUT WHAT’S NEXT
August may feel like the end of summer, but it's really the beginning of the next booking cycle.
Now is the perfect time to start talking about:
Holiday travel
Christmas markets
Winter sun escapes
Spring Break planning
Next summer's Europe itineraries
Notice the difference: you're inspiring future travel, not pushing a sale.
When you consistently share ideas before people start planning, you're far more likely to be the advisor they think of first.
4.LET YOUR PERSONALITY SHINE
Not every post needs to feature a destination.
Some of your most engaging content will simply remind people there's a real person behind your business.
Share your favorite travel planning ritual, a destination that's currently on your bucket list, or a behind-the-scenes look at your workday.
People book with people they know, like, and trust. These small glimpses into your business help create that connection.
5.CELEBRATE YOUR CLIENTS
Your happiest clients are already creating some of your best content.
With permission, share their photos, testimonials, and travel memories—but don't stop there.
Tell the story.
Instead of saying, "Another happy client in Italy," explain why this trip was meaningful or how it came together. Those personal stories are what inspire future travelers to imagine themselves in the same experience.
CONSISTENCY BEATS PERFECTION
One of the biggest myths about social media is that you have to post constantly to stay relevant. You don't.
A thoughtful, intentional post each week will always outperform a feed full of rushed content.
This month, focus on showing up consistently. Share stories, answer questions, celebrate your clients and stay visible.
That's what keeps your business top of mind long after summer ends.
NIKKI’S BOARDING PASS
August isn't about posting more, it's about posting with purpose.
While your current clients are making memories around the world, your future clients are deciding who they'll trust to plan theirs. Stay visible now, and you'll thank yourself when fall inquiries start rolling in.
